Dr. Akeem Bayonle Ola is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Former acting Head of Department and current Faculty Representative on the Board of Postgraduate School. His research interests revolve around urban food security, waste management, urban quality of life, and sustainable cities. He is a holder of B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, and University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria respectively. He also obtained a Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is a member of the following learned professional societies: Nigerian Institute of Town Planners; Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria; International Society for Environmental Epidemiology; and International Society for Development and Sustainability.
